what is a hybrid brow tint?
A hybrid brow tint, also called a hybrid brow stain, is a henna-free brow color that tints the hairs and stains the skin underneath in the same application. The result is a fuller, more defined brow with a 3D look: color on the hair for weeks, and a soft shadow on the skin for several days.

A classic tint colors the brow hairs. A hybrid stain does that and also leaves color on the skin under the brow, which fills gaps between hairs and makes sparse brows look fuller from the first day.
BB&L makes two hybrid stains: the Hybrid Liquid Brow Stain, in 9 mixable colors, and the Hybrid CREAM Brow Stain, in 8 inter-mixable shades. Each is used with its own developer.

The hair takes the color and keeps it until the hair is replaced. The skin takes a lighter layer of color that fades as the skin renews. The Hybrid CREAM Brow Stain lasts about 2 to 7 days on the skin and up to 6 weeks on the hair, and the Hybrid Liquid Brow Stain lasts up to 10 to 14 days.
The skin result depends on the prep. Exfoliate the brow area with a brow scrub and push the stain into the skin with a dense brush. More on that in brow tint that stains the skin.

The Hybrid CREAM Brow Stain is infused with hyaluronic acid, a moisture-binding ingredient that hydrates the hair and the surrounding skin during the service. Its velvety, whipped texture glides on in one even coat. It is mixed at 3 drops of stain to 2 drops of Hybrid CREAM Developer, and it is vegan and cruelty-free.
Give the color time
With the Hybrid Liquid Brow Stain, the color can look lighter right after removal and needs 3 to 5 hours to fully develop. Tell the client before she leaves.

24 to 48 hours before the first stain
Run a patch test with the exact hybrid stain and developer you will use, 24 to 48 hours before the appointment, and follow the product instructions and your state board's rules. Burning, swelling or spreading redness means no service and a referral to a physician. Swelling around the eyes or difficulty breathing is an emergency: call 911.
