removing brow tint from the skin
To remove brow tint from the skin, act in the first minutes, while the color is still fresh: apply a tint remover made for the brow and lash area on a clean pad, work it only over the stained skin, and keep it off the tinted hairs. Color that stays on the skin fades on its own, within 3 to 5 days for classic tint.
why tint grips the skin
Tint is made to color keratin, and the outer layer of the skin is keratin too. Wherever the mixed tint touches the skin, it colors it. Dry patches and dead skin cells take even more color, which is why stray marks often look darker than the brow itself.
With classic tint, that skin color is a side effect. With a hybrid stain, it is part of the result, so you only correct it outside the mapped shape.

acting in the first minutes
Fresh color comes off the skin far more easily than color that has had time to settle. Check the edges of the brow as soon as you finish applying, and again right after removal.
- Spot it early: look at the skin around the mapped outline under good light.
- Use a fresh pad or a fine applicator for each mark.
- Work outward from the brow, so you never drag remover into the tinted hairs.
using a dedicated tint remover
A remover made for the brow and lash area lifts stains without the harshness of household products. BB&L's Tint Remover is formulated to tackle stubborn stains and contains aloe vera and willow bark extract, so the area is left soft and hydrated. It can also be used to prepare the brows and lashes before tinting.
- Apply a small amount to a clean pad.
- Press and lift over the stained skin, then wipe gently.
- Repeat with a fresh pad until the mark is gone.
- Follow the product instructions for contact time and use around the eyes.
Keep remover off the tinted hairs
Remover on the brow hairs can lighten the color you just applied. Use a fine applicator along the edge of the brow and leave the hairs alone.

Household tricks circulate for removing tint: toothpaste, nail polish remover, rubbing alcohol, baking soda. None of these are made for the skin around the eyes. Use only products intended for the brow and lash area, and follow their instructions.
Rinse and stop the service
If tint or remover gets into the eye, rinse with plenty of clean water and stop the service. Persistent burning, redness or blurred vision needs a physician. Swelling around the eyes or difficulty breathing is an emergency: call 911.
preventing skin staining before you start
- Exfoliate and cleanse the brow area so the skin takes color evenly and stray marks lift easily.
- Map the outline before any color goes on.
- Load the brush lightly and keep the tip on the hair.
- Have the remover open before you start, so you can act at once.

when the client leaves with stained skin anyway
Some color can remain after a careful correction, especially on dry skin. Tell the client how long it usually takes to fade: 3 to 5 days for classic tint, about 2 to 7 days for the Hybrid CREAM Brow Stain. Ask her to use an oil-free cleanser and to avoid scrubbing the area, which irritates the skin around the brow.
Note the cause on the client card, whether a dry patch, a heavy brush or a shade that was too dark, so the next appointment goes cleaner.
