restocking rhythm
Watch which shades run out first and reorder them on their own, through single tints or the five-color pack. Keep a spare developer, since it is used in every service. Track usage on your stock sheet so a popular shade never runs out mid-week.
Match the kit to your menu
If you also tint lashes, make sure the kit holds Deep Black and Blue Black. BB&L recommends Blue Black for a more dramatic lash.
Patch test 24 to 48 hours ahead
Run a patch test with the exact tint and developer from your kit, 24 to 48 hours before the first appointment, and follow the product instructions and your state board's rules. Burning, swelling or spreading redness means no service and a referral to a physician. Swelling around the eyes or difficulty breathing is an emergency: call 911.
